Best Tips for Hair Care and Thickness
It is a given that thick hair is more appealing than thin and stringy locks. However, only a handful of women are actually blessed with the luscious and healthy locks you see on television. While there are commercial products available that can be used for adding volume, it is better if you follow the tips listed below as they promote hair care as well as thickness:
Tip 1: Choose your products carefully
First things first, avoid any products, whether they are shampoos, conditioners or styling products, which comprise of chemicals. Sure, they may be effective in cleaning your hair, but can also inflict a lot of damage. It is best to get sulfate-free and organic shampoos because they retain the natural hair oils and provide nourishment.
Tip 2: Don’t wash your hair daily
Your scalp produces natural oil that coats the hair and keeps it safe from outside damage. If you wash daily, these oils are stripped away and your locks will become weaker over time. It is best if you wash your hair twice or thrice a week. You can use dry shampoo in between for making your hair look thicker and fresh. Don’t become too infrequent with your washes as this can also harm your hair.
Tip 3: Apply essential oils to your hair
Lavender, chamomile, rosemary, cedarwood, thyme, coconut oil, almond oil and many other essential oils are helpful in thickening the hair follicles. Apply 10 to 20 drops of any oil and massage it on your scalp with your fingers. You can also add three to five drops of these oils to your shampoo.
Tip 4: Reduce the use of styling tools
Using curling irons, blow dryers and straighteners can damage your hair considerably. It is best if you keep their usage to a minimum. The heat can make your hair brittle and dry and it will fall out much more easily. If you do want to style your hair, opt for Peruvian curly hair or Peruvian straight hair extensions for a different yet natural look. You can get thick hair and make any styles you want without any damage to your natural hair.
Tip 5: Treat your hair gently
You need to treat your locks very gently if you want to reduce hair loss. Rather than using a brush to comb them, it is best if you choose a wide-toothed comb and work out the tangles carefully rather than just pulling them. You need to be extra gentle with wet hair as they break easily. Instead of drying them with a towel, pat them dry with an old t-shirt or soft cloth or wrap them in it for a while. You can also let them air dry.
Tip 6: Use volumizing techniques
There are volumizing sprays and root lifters you can use for adding volume. Plus, there are also volumizing hair products such as shampoos and conditioners that can be used regularly. Make sure you choose the ones that have natural ingredients as they are a better choice.
